THE BLUE JOURNAL

Aleppo.jpg

Welcome to The Blue Journal. This website is a collection of stories, both mine and of others, and photo journals of past and present conflicts, Authoritarianism and the lives and perspectives of those who have experienced it.

The purpose of this website is to be an archive to these journals, and to publish the stories of those who have shared their accounts of life and events from across the world, however small this corner of the internet may be. The website aims to collect a diverse range of accounts from across the world, ranging from Europe and Africa to the Indo-Pacific. ‘The Blue Journal’ gets its name from the first notepad, which happened to be blue, used to collect stories from the Balkans and former Soviet states about the fall of communism and the hardships the subsequent years brought with them.

The Blue Journal aims to be as apolitical as possible, whilst acknowledging the crimes and abuses various groups, governments and regimes have committed against their people. This project is continuous and periodically updated as new stories are collected and journals are made, please enjoy reading.
